Nothing about this title really needed to be changed, which makes it even nicer that the developers took the extra effort to implement various quality-of-life improvements in addition to giving it a graphical facelift for the current console generation. Given its compelling story, fantastic dialogue writing and incredibly fun gameplay, it was arguably the best game released in 2015. This new update does nothing but improve upon a masterpiece. The improvements to graphics and gameplay are enough solidify Complete Edition as the definitive version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt."},{"server":"HardcoreGamer","url":"https://hardcoregamer.com/2016/06/03/review-the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-blood-and-wine/209775/","date":"2016-06-03","rating":4.5,"ratingBase":5,"ratingPercent":90,"abstract":"Our review of Hearts of Stone mentioned that it was a shining example of how to create meaningful downloadable content, and yet Blood and Wine manages to top it in nearly every way imaginable. From a deceptively deep and emotional main narrative to a number of mechanical additions that make playing as Geralt even more of a blast, CD Projekt Red has truly outdone itself here. It’s difficult to think of any reason for those who enjoyed The Witcher 3 proper to pass at the chance to explore the beautiful region of Toussaint. The sheer amount of environmental and mission variety alone is justification enough to plop down the price of entry and regain control of everyone’s favorite silver-haired monster hunter, yet Blood and Wine amounts to oh so much more. Perhaps most importantly, it’s going to be really difficult for open-world games in the future to dribble out downloadable filler content, à la Batman: Arkham Knight, in a world where something as brilliant as Blood and Wine exists. If you’re looking for a clear-cut example of how to do DLC right, look no further."},{"server":"HardcoreGamer","url":"https://hardcoregamer.com/2015/10/18/review-the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-hearts-of-stone/172669/","date":"2015-10-18","rating":4.5,"ratingBase":5,"ratingPercent":90,"abstract":"If you’re looking for an example of how to create meaningful downloadable content that doesn’t feel exploitative, you’d be hard pressed to find a better example than Hearts of Stone. From its love letters to longtime fans of the series to the outstanding character moments in its main quest, The Witcher 3‘s first piece of paid DLC adds yet another layer to what might be the most robust open world in gaming history. Sure, if you still have a ton of things to do in Wild Hunt (and frankly, why wouldn’t you?) then you can certainly justify passing on paying for more content, but if you’re someone who wants another robust storyline to dive into and some intriguing new mechanics, then Hearts of Stone is for you. Yes, this is more Wild Hunt, but seeing as how masterful it is, how could that be anything but a fantastic thing?"},{"server":"HardcoreGamer","url":"https://hardcoregamer.com/2015/05/23/review-the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/150140/","date":"2015-05-23","rating":5,"ratingBase":5,"ratingPercent":100,"abstract":"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is equal parts daunting, accessible, beautiful and hideous, but every aspect combines in such a remarkable way that it’s nearly impossible to not give it a sweeping recommendation. Geralt’s story and his interactions with the world provide both an immediately gripping experience for newcomes and enjoyable fanservice to those who have stuck around since the beginning. 2015’s largest game to date is its best so far, as the marriage of seemingly endless open-world content and engaging storytelling make The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt a superlative experience. From rounds of the in-game card game Gwent to its robust crafting and alchemy systems, those who are looking for the all of the minutia that comes from a deep western role-playing experience will find it here in droves."},{"server":"Game Informer","url":"https://www.gameinformer.com/games/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt/b/playstation4/archive/2015/05/12/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-review-game-informer.aspx","date":"2015-05-12","rating":9.75,"ratingBase":10,"ratingPercent":97.5,"abstract":"The Witcher 3 provides a stimulating challenge on and off the battlefield."}],"updatedAt":"2022-12-16"}
