Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time embraced the mechanics that made the franchise such a hit while adding its own unique spin. The move to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S maintains the same essence that made the game so enjoyable last year, but it now looks and runs better. The visuals are cleaner and the frame rate runs at a solid 60fps. DualSense support is lackluster compared to other titles, but the smart use of Activity Cards makes up for it. With a free upgrade available for current owners, and the ability to import saves from the cloud, hopping back into Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is simple, or start a whole new adventure for the first time. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was the return to form the franchise needed and it’s looking good on next-gen."},{"server":"Game Informer","url":"https://www.gameinformer.com/review/crash-bandicoot-4-its-about-time/crash-bandicoot-4-its-about-time-review-precision","date":"2020-10-01","rating":8.5,"ratingBase":10,"ratingPercent":85,"abstract":"A return to the unique brand of ‘90s platforming that put Crash Bandicoot on the map."},{"server":"HardcoreGamer","url":"https://hardcoregamer.com/2020/10/01/review-crash-bandicoot-4-its-about-time/388381/","date":"2020-10-01","rating":4,"ratingBase":5,"ratingPercent":80,"abstract":"Crash Bandicoot fans have waited well over a decade for a proper follow-up that honored the legacy of Naughty Dog’s classic trilogy. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time mostly delivers on that promise, crafting an experience that embraces the mechanics that made the franchise such a hit, while adding its unique spin. The story isn’t anything special, but Crash and Coco’s story is told with such enthusiasm and charisma that it’s hard not to get sucked in for the 6-8 hour duration. The ten dimensions are wonderfully designed, filled with plenty of intricate levels that will test your platforming capabilities. Thankfully, the gameplay for Crash, Coco and the side characters remains excellent, though the new Quantum Masks and camera issues create some frustrating moments. It’s all wrapped together in a colorful and beautiful presentation that takes advantage of this current crop of hardware. It’s about time we got a good new Crash game and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time delivers just that."}],"updatedAt":"2021-03-11"}
